The Cadiz Rotary Club will soon have 125,000-dollars dedicated to helping educate students at Hopkinsville Community College, through a partnership with the HCC Foundation. Cadiz Rotary Club President Sandra Myers presented a 50,000-dollar check to HCC President Jim Selbe, Foundation Chairman Jo Glover, and Foundation Director Yvette Eastham during Tuesday's Rotary meeting.
Dr. Selbe says the Cadiz Rotary Club's continued commitment to students takes it to the top of the list.
Foundation Chairman Jo Glover says the presentation is especially meaningful because it comes from a very dedicated community.
Selbe says children for a number of generations will benefit from the 50,000-dollar contribution to the HCC Cadiz Rotary Club Endowment.
The gift to the HCC Foundation was funded by the 2012 Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction, during which Rotarians raised 208,000-dollars. The original 50,000-dollar donation was funded by proceeds from the 2010 Cadiz Rotary Radio Auction. The club's fundraising auction airs annually on WKDZ-FM 106.5.
