The Christian County Sheriff's Department arrested a Hopkinsville woman Sunday on 17 different charges.
Reports say 24 year old Megan Smith of South O'Neil was spotted driving erratically and stopped in a parking lot off Fort Campbell Boulevard. When a deputy approached the vehicle, a strong smell was coming from the car. A K-9 unit indicated drugs were in the car and when the car was searched officers found a small amount of marijuana and a pipe. Smith's three small children were in the car but not in child restraints and she reportedly told deputies that she had been smoking pot earlier that day. Though she was asked about anything else she might be holding, officials say when she arrived at the jail another small bag of marijuana was found on her.
Among other traffic violations, Smith was charged with three counts of wanton endangerment, DUI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, three counts of no child restraints, and promoting contraband.
