Hopkinsville Community College is working hard to cover the projected 1.5-million dollar shortfall this year. President Dr James Selbe told the Board of Directors Thursday afternoon the college cut costs and saved money, but there is still a deficit.
He adds student enrollment is down 6 point 9 percent, but they are hoping it will go up after the mid-spring classes.
Selbe says he and other administrators are hoping the spring semester enrollment will increase to bring in 4.1 million dollars.
