Hopkinsville Police released their crime statistics for the year at the January Crime Statistics Meeting Thursday and while crimes do fluctuate, officials say the public can help reduce crime. Captain Mike Seis says he feels that they have been successful at helping make Hopkinsville City streets safer through their traffic enforcement in 2012.
Captain Seis says the best way to help the police reduce the number of thefts from cars is to be on the look out and always lock up your vehicles.
The Hopkinsville Police Department holds monthly meetings at the Police Station to let the public know about what is going on in their community. The public is invited to attend and ask questions or talk to officers about issues they see.
