Trigg County School Safety

While officials at the federal level are looking to gun control to make schools safer, locally, schools are increasing security to keep students safe. Trigg County Superintendent Travis Hamby says they are very proud of the new security system they are installing, which will control access to the schools.

Hamby says one issue they've had in the past is controlling the amount of keys that are issued and returned.

In addition to the new door locks, Hamby says they also have law enforcement on campus to help with any problems.

School officials say they hope these measures, along with the tips line, and an open line of communications between staff and students, will help keep the schools safe.
