Hopkinsville Police Investigate Shooting



Hopkinsville Police are investigating an incident of shots fired that left one man injured. According to the report, officers were called out around 3:30pm to the report of shots being fired in the 200 block of Wildwood Drive. Police were told that a Chrysler 300 had been seen driving through the area, with an occupant in the vehicle firing the shots. Officers located shell casings on the scene, but were unable to locate the vehicle, or a victim.

Around 10:43pm Wednesday night, officials at Jennie Stuart Medical Center contacted police concerning a gunshot victim. Police spoke to Deaerion Dowey, of Wildwood Drive, at the hospital, with Dowey telling police that he had been walking on Wildwood Drive, when he was shot by someone in a baby blue colored Chysler 300. Dowey added that the shooter was a light skin, black male, wearing a black cap, with the passenger in the vehicle being a light skin black male, wearing a red hoodie.
