A total of 12 accidents were worked by Hopkinsville Police Tuesday, with seven of those accidents occurring within a four hour period in the evening hours, and people being transported to the hospital from four of the crashes, including the fatal accident on the bypass. According to the first report, 17-year old Ariana Kendrick of Hopkinsville was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center complaining of back pain after her car was rear-ended at the intersection of Glass Avenue and North Drive just before 8am, while the driver of the other car, who is described as a red-haired white female, fled the scene.
Icy road conditions were apparently the cause of a single vehicle accident on East 7th Street that injured a Hopkinsville woman. Hopkinsville Police say 56-year old Fanny Redd told them she was driving slowly when she lost control of her vehicle on an icy bridge and hit the rail. She was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center by private vehicle following the accident, which occurred around 7:00pm.

Around 5:20pm, Police say 18-year old Demorein Johnson of Hopkinsville was taken to Jennie Staurt after the car he was riding in was t-boned at the intersection of South Campbell and East 9th Street. The report says 42-year old Paul Rogers of Hopkinsville was southbound when a black passenger car ran the red-light on 9th and continued down the road after the accident.
