Lyon County voters have decided to allow the sale of alcohol countywide. In a local option election Tuesday, the measure passed by a vote of 1530 to 1272. Under the local option, three package liquor licenses will be available. In addition, an unlimited number of wine by the drink licenses will be available for restaurants that seat at least 50 people and derive 50-percent of their revenue from food sales. The same restaurants, along with convenience stores with at least 5000-dollars in inventory, can apply for a retail beer license. Previously, only by the drink sales in qualifying establishments was allowed in Kuttawa.
