State highway officials have announced that a contractor for AT&T is now restricting traffic on the Eggners Ferry Bridge. The lane restriction is to allow conduit and a new fiber optic cable to be placed along the bridge structure. This cable replaces a communications line that was severed when the Delta Mariner struck the bridge last year, knocking a 300 ft. span into Kentucky Lake.
Motorists can expect to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers from approximately 8:00am to about 4:30pm. The contractor expects the work to take 3 or 4 days.
