Cadiz Hosts Appreciation For Former Police Chief

There were plenty of tears Thursday afternoon as the City of Cadiz said farewell to Hollis Alexander. However, those tears come with the knowledge that he may no longer be police chief, but he will be just across the street. Cadiz Mayor Lyn Bailey was joined by others from around the area to thank Alexander for his 16 years of service to the city.

Major Duncan Wiggins, who served as the former chief's right hand, says his dedication to the city was unparalleled and will be missed.

Wiggins presented Alexander with a thank you plaque.

Cadiz Police Officer Randy Clark, Oak Grove Police Chief Les Langdon and Commonwealth's Attorney GL Ovey shared stories about Alexander's years in law enforcement. Some one-hundred residents came to the Renaissance Center Thursday afternoon for the appreciation reception for Alexander hosted by the City of Cadiz.
