Dunbar To Be Recognized Friday Night



A special recognition coming up Friday night for one of the top high school basketball coaches in Kentucky high school basketball history. Christian County High School will honor former basketball coach Lyle Dunbar Friday night at Colonel Gym. The special tribute and a surprise announcement will take place between the JV and Varsity games as Christian County meets Hopkinsville. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at approximately 7:15 pm.

Dunbar coached 18 years at Christian County High, going 367-153 during his tenure. His Colonel teams won twelve 8th District championships and six 2nd Region titles. Dunbar’s teams made two appearances in the finals of the Sweet Sixteen, and one other appearance in the final four.
