State Officials Supporting Projects

Governor Beshear and legislative leaders are backing a plan that would authorize 363-million dollars in construction projects at six of the state's public universities. The Governor points out that the projects will be paid for entirely by the universities and no General Fund money would be used.

Senate President Robert Stivers and House Speaker Greg Stumbo said they expect the proposal to be approved by the General Assembly. The biggest project in the proposed legislation would be 110-million dollars for the renovation of Commonwealth Stadium at the University of Kentucky.
