Hopkinsville Community College is one of seventeen sites in Kentucky that will have centers set up this weekend to help high school seniors apply for college financial aid. This Sunday is "College Goal Sunday," which is an effort to get more seniors to pursue higher education by helping them find the money they need.
HCC’s event will take place from 2:00pm until 4:00pm, at the College’s Auditorium Lecture Hall. The program begins promptly at 2 p.m. with a presentation, followed by personalized assistance. All attendees will be eligible to enter into a drawing for a chance to win a scholarship that can be used at any Kentucky school.
Financial aid counselors will be available to help seniors fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA. The form is a requirement for anyone seeking federal financial at colleges and universities nationwide.
Among the other sites in Western Kentucky will be Bowling Green, Henderson, Madisonville, Owensboro, and Paducah.
