Commonwealth's Attorney G.L. Ovey will have until March 13 to review information from Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam and turn over any relevant evidence to Claude Russell's defense attorneys. During a review hearing Wednesday afternoon, Ovey told Trigg Circuit Judge Woody Woodall he had received the information he subpoenaed from Burnam.
He adds that he still has to sift through the information.
Despite nationwide coverage of the turmoil in December between Ovey and Burnam, the two men appeared to be very cordial in court, even talking briefly before court started. The next pretrial conference in the case is scheduled for July 12 at 9:00am.
