One Injured In Hopkins County Accident

One person was injured in a two vehicle accident Monday on the Pennyrile Parkway in Hopkins County. State Police say 73-year old Robert Abell, of Rockvale, Colorado, was stopped in the area between the northbound lanes of the parkway and the northbound exit lanes to US 41. As he attempted to merge back onto the parkway, he pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by 30-year old Jeanetta Hollis, of Hanson.

Abell's vehicle exited the right shoulder and struck a sign, while Hollis' vehicle came to rest blocking the northbound lanes. Hollis was transported to Baptist Health Madisonville, while Abell and two passengers were not injured in the accident, which occurred around 11:45am Monday.
