Eagle Media Tour Kicks Off Eagle Viewing At Parks

Kentucky Tourism and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Marcheta Sparrow says more people need to experience the upcoming Eagle Weekends at Kentucky State Parks. Sparrow and Kentucky Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker were among those aboard the C Q Princess for the Eagle Media Tour to kick off Eagle viewing season.

Walker says the best way to see eagles is with a naturalist such as Mary Schmidt with the Kentucky Department of Parks.

Nearly 30 bald eagles and one golden eagle were spotted during the two hour media tour that took place on the northern end of Kentucky Lake just south of Kentucky Dam. There are still openings to participate in eagle weekends at Lake Barkley, Kenlake and Kentucky Dam Village.
