HPD Investigating Fatal Hillaire Drive Shooting

Hopkinsville Police are investigating a shooting incident this morning, with reports indicating two people are dead and a third person is being flown by helicopter from the scene due to a gunshot wound.
Police were called to 309 Hillaire Drive, which is located near the intersection with Old Clarksville Pike just off Fort Campbell Boulevard, shortly before 10:00 to investigate a possible shooting. Unofficial reports indicate two of three people inside the home were dead. Hopkinsville Police confirm that a third person, that was suffering from a gunshot wound, was removed from the home. Christian Ambulance personnel called in the Air Evac Lifeteam to transport the patient from near the scene, with later reports indicating the shooting victim was being taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Reports from the scene also indicate a dog that was inside the home sustained a minor gunshot wound.
Reports from the scene indicated there was some initial concern about an active shooter, but once police were able to get inside the home, that was apparently no longer a concern. No other information has been released by Hopkinsville Police. The News Edge is on the scene is continuing to follow this breaking story.
