After competing with high school students from across the state, a local student will head to Washington, D.C. to compete in the Voice of Democracy speech competition. Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts around the country have sponsored the annual competition, which is open to high school students. VFW Post 1913 Commander, John Brame says their winner will go all the way.
He adds that the top prize for the competition is a 30-thousand dollar college scholarship.
Christopher Kinnard is a senior at Hopkinsville High School. The competition will be March 2 through 6th.
