248 soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell, who died 27 years ago today, were remembered Monday morning at Fort Campbell Memorial Park in Hopkinsville. The soldiers and eight crew members died when their plane crashed on takeoff from the Gander, Newfoundland, in the early morning hours of December 12th, 1985, as they were returning home from a peacekeeping mission in the Sinai.
