Officials say a home on Nancy Avenue in Trigg County was a complete loss despite the efforts of two volunteer fire departments. The Trigg-Lyon Fire Department was dispatched to 309 Nancy Avenue near Rockcastle around 7:35 Monday night. The East Golden Fire Department was called later to assist. Trigg Lyon Fire Chief Bill Wade says the fire started from the home's wood burning stove.
Wade says the home belonged to Adrian Hughes, who's family was at home at the time of the fire.
A majority of the Trigg-Lyon Fire Department were at the station in the middle of its Christmas dinner when the call came in. Wade says around 20 Trigg-Lyon firefighters were on the scene for 4 to 5 hours, with East Golden Pond assisting with a tanker.
