The Kentucky Lake region has been selected by "Where to Retire" as a top retirement destination, and will be profiled in the January/February issue of the magazine, which will be available nationwide on December 18. The publication is the only magazine in America geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions.
Editor Mary Lu Abbott said the Kentucky Lake region possesses qualities important to today’s retirees. Abbott noted that from hikers and anglers to boaters and bikers, outdoor lovers are discovering a low cost, fun lifestyle in the Kentucky Lake Region of western Kentucky and Tennessee.
Officials point out that each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Generally, relocating retirees are healthier, better educated and more affluent than those who choose to not relocate. They also bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns.
