A Caldwell County man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer following his arrest early Sunday morning. According to information from the Princeton Police Department, officers arrested 24-year old Howard Tucker, of Rock Springs Road, after being called out around 3:30am Sunday morning to the report of a fight in progress at 109 Ratliff Street.
While investigating the complaint, an officer was holding a door open, waiting for the resident, when Tucker, who was intoxicated and being loud, allegedly got up and closed the door, after being told not to. When the door closed, it forced the officer's arm through the glass, cutting his arm. When police attempted to take Tucker into custody, he resisted being placed in handcuffs. Tucker was arrested on a charge of 3rd Degree Assault, and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
