The Trigg County Hospital Health and Wellness Center is still on track for a spring opening.
Officials celebrated with the 60th anniversary of the hospital with a Hard Hat Tour of the newest addition Sunday afternoon. Administrator Alisa Coleman says the new center will allow the rehab department to offer more services to patients.
Rehabilitation Department Director Karen Miracle says the new facility will give the growing staff more room to serve patients.
Coleman says the center will also include an expanded Primary Care Clinic.
The new facility will allow three Physicians or Nurse Practitioners to see patients at the same time with three separate patient care areas.
Hospital Maintenance Director Mike Lane says the work to convert the former Cadiz Methodist Church to the Health and Wellness Center has provided some challenges.
Lane says the facility may not open in early March, but will likely open in the spring. He says the project is expected to cost well below the projected 1.2 million dollars. He adds the hospital has spent nearly 600-thousand dollars on the project so far. Lane adds local contractors are completing much of the work that cannot be completed by the hospital maintenance staff.
