Man Killed In Clarksville Car Accident

Clarksville Police say one man is dead following a two vehicle accident early Sunday morning on Trenton Road. Though police are not releasing the names until next of kin is notified, they say the 26-year old man was northbound on Trenton Road, around 12:30am, when he attempted to make a left turn onto the 101st Airborne Division Parkway and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing a truck driven by a 23-year old woman to crash head-on into his vehicle.

Police say the man was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected through the windshield and then returned to the interior of the vehicle. He was transported to Gateway, where he died from his injuries. The woman was transported to Gateway with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say they appreciate the help of witnesses to the crash and any witness who has not spoken to officers can call the lead investigator, Sgt Vince Lewis, 931-648-0656, ext. 5297. Officers say this is the 16th fatality crash for 2012.
