Stoops Ready For Big Blue Nation, UK Football

There are still plenty of unknowns for the University of Kentucky Football team, but new head coach Mark Stoops says he is ready for everything the next few months hold as he works to get a new coaching staff to lead the Wildcats to victory. Stoops joined Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart and College President Eli Capilouto at the Nutter Field House Sunday for a news conference officially announcing his selection as head coach.

Barnhart and Capilouto agree, this is the first step in showing the school's support for the, thus far, inconsistent football program.

Stoops says he just has one message for the Big Blue Nation, which was out in force for the news conference.

When asked about what his first job will be, Stoops says he is already working scouting a coaching staff.

He also says the Big Blue Nation will see area recruiting in the coming months and years.

Barnhart says the program offered Stoops a five-year 11 million dollar contract, which will include incentives. The entire news conference can be heard here.
