Mobile Home Fire

Westside Volunteer Firefighters responded to a mobile home fire on Steven Drive Saturday afternoon just after 12:30.  Reports say the homeowner, David Stokes, was able to get out of the home but was taken from the scene for an unrelated illness.  He told officials the door was burnt and smoke was coming from the home.

Meanwhile, Westside Volunteer Fire Department responded to 3520 Dawson Springs Road on Saturday evening just before 5 o'clock after a homeowner reported a fire in the home.  Officials say the home received moderate to severe damage from the fire, which is believed to have started with a wood stove.

Westside was on the scene of both fires for about two hours each.
