Deal Finally Reached In Case Against Constable

The Christian County Constable accused of stealing a golf cart will not lose his position since he plead to misdemeanor charge Friday morning.  Christian County Attorney Mike Foster says if Mark Graham had plead or been convicted of the original felony charge, he would no longer be able to serve, but that is not the case with a misdemeanor charge.

However, Graham will have to pay restitution and serve probation after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property.  Graham, the Fifth District Constable, appeared before Judge John Atkins, and despite previous misgivings about entering a guilty plea on the record, agreed to the plea deal offered by special prosecutor, Ralph Vick.

Those conditions include paying restitution to Doctor Craig Allen and court costs. Graham was originally facing a charge of knowingly receiving stolen property over 500 dollars, but Vick says the value was determined to be less than 500 dollars making it a misdemeanor.
