HCC Considering Tobacco Free Campus

Hopkinsville Community College may be going tobacco-free in the new year. Board members voted unanimously to approve a resolution Thursday supporting the administration’s quest to become a tobacco-free campus. HCC President, Dr. James Selbe says with the recent passage of the smoking ban ordinance by the city, it will be difficult for the college to continue to allow smoking.

He adds that it is hard to regulate adult behaviors.

The decision to go tobacco-free is not official yet, however, the new citu ordinance goes into effect January 1st.
