The 17th annual Warm the Children campaign is officially underway for 2012 and Kiwanis members are asking for the public's help in raising the 20-thousand dollars needed to clothe the 250 children. Longtime co-organizer, Willie Renshaw says it is hard to believe the program has been going on for so long.
Children are chosen by the Salvation Army and Kiwanians join the families to shop for what, for many, is the only Christmas they will have. The joint venture between the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club, JC Penny and the Kentucky New Era makes sure those children receive needed winter clothes.
