Just over a year after leaving Fort Campbell to serve as the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff in the G-3/5/7 office, Lieutenant General John Campbell is receiving his nomination to four-star General. Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced Thursday that among the President recent nominations is Lt. Gen. Campbell. Campbell's nomination is for appointment to the rank of general, and for assignment as commanding general of US Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.
Currently as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Campbell has been developing command-wide plans and priorities; directing command operations; and providing policy, guidance, and strategies to develop and sustain Army training and leader development systems now and for the future.
