From the News Edge: Transportation officials are reporting a traffic backup along the westbound lanes of I-24 in the work zone from near the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line to the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit. The contractor is pouring concrete as part of ongoing pavement rehabilitation work around the 89-mile marker, near the Pembroke-Oak Grove exit. While concrete trucks are moving in and out of this work area delivering material, the traffic backup appears to be more related to heavy traffic along the westbound lanes today. Westbound I-24 traffic in this work zone is backed up about 3 to 4 miles at this time with traffic slowed to about 35 mph in the area. To help reduce traffic congestion in this area, regular commuters who normally travel this section of I-24 westbound are being asked to seek an alternate route, if possible...............................................................................................................................A Night With The Blues is Saturday night at the Alhambra Theatre. Lake Barkley State Resort Park Hosting Turkey Shoot On Nov. 17
 
CADIZ, Ky. -- Lake Barkley State Resort Park is hosting a Turkey Shoot – a target shooting competition – on Nov. 17.
 
 
The day will be broken into two competitions. The first is trap shooting, with six flights for target clays from 8-11 a.m. Each flight will be made up of five shooters with five shots per person.  Shooters will change positions after each shot. Ties will be broken by shooting from longer distances until a shooter misses. The winner of each round will receive a turkey and will be entered in a drawing for a free night’s stay or Thanksgiving dinner for two at the park. The cost is $15 per shoot.
 
The second competition is a still target shoot at 1 p.m. There will be five rounds and each winner will receive a turkey and will be entered in a drawing for a free night’s stay or Thanksgiving dinner for two at the park. The cost is $5 per shot.
 
Both competitions are for 12-gauge shotguns only. Rounds will be provided. 
 
Families and individuals can enjoy this event and the other entertainment and lodging opportunities at the park. Lake Barkley State Resort Park is the largest state resort park in Kentucky and features a lodge, cottages, the Windows on the Water Restaurant, a seasonal campground, 18-hole golf course, fitness center with indoor pool, marina, fishing, tennis courts, hiking trails, gift shop, and recreational and nature programming.  The park is located at 3500 State Park Road in Cadiz.  From Interstate 24, take the Highway 68 exit west toward Cadiz.
