Two Injured In Thursday Evening Accident

Two people were transported from the scene following a two vehicle accident Thursday evening in Christian County. According to information from Deputy Andre Radford with the Christian County Sheriff’s Department, on the scene, the accident occurred when a vehicle pulling from Edwards Mill Road onto U.S. 68, driven by 20-year old Lemarr Turner apparently pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle on U.S. 68, driven by 66-year old Jeffrey Hanley.

The impact of the resulting collision sent Hanley's vehicle into the westbound lanes of U.S. 68, while the Turner vehicle, which had been traveling northbound on Edwards Mill Road, came to rest facing southbound, in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 68. Hanley was not injured in the accident, Turner and a passenger, 19-year old Jasmine Beamon, were transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Radford says Turner is a soldier at Fort Campbell.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Department was not able to provide the names of the victims, or their condition, at the scene. All four lanes of U.S. 68 were closed for a period of time following the accident, which occurred just after 6:00pm Thursday.
