With the firing of Joker Phillips Sunday afternoon as the University of Kentucky football coach, speculation will now turn to who Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart will select to try and turn the UK football program around. Among some of the names being mentioned here at the beginning of the search process are:

David Cutcliffe – Head Coach at Duke
Sonny Dykes – Head Coach at Louisiana Tech
Butch Jones – Head Coach at Cincinnati
Willie Taggart – Head Coach at Western Kentucky University
Phillip Fulmer – former Head Coach at Tennessee
Dirk Koetter – Offensive Coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons
Mike Leach – Head Coach at Washington State
Bobby Petrino – former Head Coach at Arkansas
Tommy Tuberville – Head Coach at Texas Tech
Neal Brown – Offensive Coordinator at Texas Tech

Joker Phillips will coach the final two games of the season for Kentucky, against Samford and Tennessee.
