Thirteen Treated After School Bus Accident

Officials with Jennie Stuart Medical Center now say 11 students and 2 adults were treated and released following an accident involving a school bus Monday morning, just south of Crofton, on US 41 North. Deputy Sean Head, with the Christian County Sheriff's Department, spoke to the News Edge on the scene of the accident.

Heather Aubin, Communications Director with the Christian County Schools, told the News Edge none of the injuries sustained in the accident were serious.

Aubin added that once the students were treated at Jennie Stuart, they were released.

Those students not transported for treatment, continued on their way for the beginning of the school day.

Aubin said the driver of the bus was Kenneth Buckner, who was not injured in the accident. Aubin credited Buckner for his quick actions to keep control of the bus and keep it on the road. U.S. 41 North was closed for about an hour and a half following the accident, which was just south of Crofton, near the intersection with Covered Wagon Road.
