Trigg Fiscal Court will advertise for bids starting Friday to replace the Delmont Church Road bridge. Magistrates chose the plan recommended by Judge Executive Stan Humphries during Monday night's meeting.
The plan was one of two options presented by Architect Frank Williams of Ron Johnson and Associates. The bridge was initially installed over a year ago, but had to be closed after the soil and gravel surrounding the structure began eroding. Humphries says companies will have 21 days to bid on the project, with work to begin 60 days after the bid is approved by magistrates.
Magistrates approved donating 1000-dollars from the alcohol fund to help get the Trigg County Crimestoppers program up and running by November 1st. Crimestoppers Coordinator Jimmy Godair was on hand to discuss the program. He also told magistrates Crimestoppers will have a ribbon cutting November 1st at the Trigg County Sheriff's Department.
