Police handle a variety of crimes with varying levels of severity. But, every now and then a unique case presents itself to law enforcement.
Clarksville Information Officer Jim Knoll says one of these cases swung its way into the Clarksville Police Department recently. Reports say on September 28, 2012, between 11:15 am and 6:40 pm, some nefarious criminal broke into Douglas Jacksons mobile home at 115 Denny Rd, Apt 3 and stole his Marmoset monkey.
Officials say when Jackson left his home to go to work, he double checked the door to make sure it was locked. When he returned home, he found his dog running outside and the door wide open. He also discovered that his pet monkey, GIZZY, which originally belonged to his grandmother had been stolen from the trailer. There was no other property taken at the time of the break-in. The monkey is reportedly valued at 3 thousand dollars.
