Flags Ordered To Half Staff Wednesday

Governor Steve Beshear is directing that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Funeral services for 33 year old Sergeant 1st Class Aaron A. Henderson will be held Wednesday at 2 pm Eastern time at the Houlton High School Gymnasium in Houlton, Maine. Burial will follow at East Hodgdon Cemetery in Houlton.

According to the Department of Defense, Henderson of Houlton, Maine, died October 2, at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit on September 30 with an improvised explosive device in Zombalay Village, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Campbell.

Governor Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
