Lyon County Man Injured In Monday Accident

A Lyon County man was flown to an Evansville hospital following a Monday afternoon accident in Crittenden County. State Police say 37-year old James McFarland, of Kuttawa, was eastbound on Kentucky 70, when he applied the brakes on his motorcycle to slow down for a car he thought was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Kentucky 70 from a driveway.

McFarland lost control of the motorcycle, striking a mailbox and the vehicle, which was driven by 28-year old Joshua Kinnis, of Dycusburg. The motorcycle then overturned and ejected McFarland. McFarland, who was wearing a helmet, was flown by PHI Air Medical to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment following the accident, which occurred around 1:50pm Monday.
