The Board of Education voted to approve three 50-thousand dollar grants—a biomedical sciences career pathway grant, an engineering pipeline grant and an energy technology engineering grant. The grants are part of the Project Lead The Way program to increase STEM classes offered in the district.
The School Board also listened to a 90 minute presentation from Davis Demographics in California and is now considering using their services for redistricting software. The company can take census data and school data to help draw up maps that would be the most accurate the district has ever used to determine the boundaries of school areas.
