CCSO Investigating Home Invasion

The Christian County Sheriff's Department is looking into a home invasion on Bypass Road early Monday morning.

Reports say just before 2am James Harvey and Timothy Ellis woke to the sounds of someone in their home. Harvey told deputies that when he got out of bed he found an outside door open. He says he saw a man walking away from Ellis' SUV. Harvey described the man as a thin, tall, black male wearing dark clothing. When the intruder saw Harvey he reportedly ran off down Bypass Road. Shortly after Sheriff's Deputies and Hopkinsville Police arrived. Detective Kacy Greene reports that it appears the suspect entered the home through a bathroom window. A 9mm handgun and 7 rounds of ammunition was missing from a box in the home. K-9 Units from HPD assisted on the scene but lost the scent near City Salvage.

The report says Hopkinsville Police arrested a thin black male a short time later after he was found hiding under a trailer on Normandale Drive.
