When officers arrived on the scene they found that several items, and cash, had been taken, and that in at least one case, the door glass was broken to gain entry into the vehicle. Among the items stolen was an old handgun.
Some of the items taken were found later in a dumpster near the Broadbent Inn. However, the handgun and the money were not recovered. Two of the vehicles belonged to customers, while two of the vehicles belonged to Cracker Barrel employees.
