University Of Louisville President Addresses Hopkinsville Rotary Club
University of Louisville President Dr. James Ramsey says the University is striving to meet its state mandate as a “premier” institution, and it is well on its way. Dr. Ramsey, who is on a state wide tour to promote the college and its achievements, spoke to the Hopkinsville Rotary Club Tuesday, saying U of L is making strides in numerous areas.
Ramsey adds that this growth is harder because of the cuts the university has made over the last 12 years during economic downturns.
Kentucky is behind the nation in average income, health, and social issues. As a state, Dr. Ramsey says there are four key areas Kentucky need to focus on for growth and improvement in those areas.
He stresses that Kentucky needs to be investing in human capital, not cutting, because “if you can bring the people, the jobs will follow.”
