The Pembroke man accused of killing his cousin last weekend in southern Christian County is scheduled to be back in court Monday. 29-year old Micah Holland will appear for a preliminary hearing in Christian District Court. Holland is charged with Murder in connection with the death of 30-year old Joey Weatherwax, of Cox Mill Road, early Sunday morning, September 9th.
It was around 3:00am that morning, when emergency officials received a call of shots fired at 7875 Old Palmyra Road, in Herndon. Deputies arrived on the scene to find Weatherwax dead, after being shot and run over by a vehicle. A witness told investigators that he had seen Weatherwax standing in front of a vehicle. The witness stated he heard a loud pop and saw Weatherwax fall to the ground, with the vehicle running over him as it fled the scene.Micah Holland was taken into custody later Sunday afternoon on a charge of Murder and lodged in the Christian County Jail on one million dollars bond.
