Wednesday Afternoon Tractor Accident

The owner of a state contracted mowing crew remains hospitalized at Vanderbilt Medical Center following a Wednesday afternoon tractor accident on Pembroke Road.

Reports indicate Double-G Mowing owner, 40-year old Grady Givens of Fairview, Tennessee, was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, then flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Reports to the News Edge indicate Givens was working on a tractor when the driver's foot slipped off the clutch, which resulted in the tractor lunging forward and running over Givens.

Emergency crews were called out before 4:30pm to the report of an individual being run over by a tractor near the corner of Pembroke Road and John Rivers Road.

The News Edge spoke to Randy Graham, Christian County Emergency Management Director on the scene about what took place.

As of late Wednesday night, Givens was reported in critical condition.

Transportation Cabinet safety personnel plan to gather additional information on the incident on Thursday.

The accident is being investigated by the Christian County Sheriff's Department.
