A Pembroke man is charged with murder in connection with the death of his cousin, 30 year-old Joey Weatherwax of Coxmill Road, early Sunday morning on the Old Palmyra Road in south Christian County.
Christian County Sheriff’s Captain Chris Miller says 29 year-old Micah Holland of Pembroke was arrested Sunday afternoon, charged with murder and was lodged in Christian County Jail under a one million dollar bond. Holland is the cousin of the victim Joey Weatherwax. Weatherwax was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner Mike Stokes Sunday morning after his body was discovered around 3am. Captain Miller says he died from a possible gunshot wound and injuries from being hit by an automobile.
The investigation is continuing, with officials waiting for the results from an autopsy that was scheduled to take place Sunday in Louisville.
Residents of the area say some type of gathering was taking place late last night at a home on the Old Palmyra Road. Officials have not confirmed if the murder resulted from something that occurred during the gathering.
