Residents of Princeton dealt with a water outage most of the day Wednesday, and now are having to deal with a boil water order in the wake of a water main break. It was announced Wednesday afternoon by officials with the Princeton Water Department that broken main was located under the Princeton Public Works building, which is located on South Seminary Street.
With the line coming directly from the water treatment plant in Princeton, the pumps had to remain off until the line could be capped and blocked. The line was successfully capped early Wednesday evening.
Even with the line repaired, a boil water advisory is expected to be in effect until Friday. The advisory also affects customers in Caldwell County and Lyon County, who get their water from the city of Princeton. The break also resulted in the closure of all restaurants in Princeton until after the water line could be repaired.
