Black Patch Festival



THE ANNUAL BLACK FESTIVAL IS THIS WEEKEND IN BEAUTIFUL,
HISTORIC PRINCETON, KENTUCKY

 
 
 
The weekend kicks off with the Black Patch Parade at 5:oo pm on Friday Sept 7th. If you would like to be in the parade, line up starts at Butler parking lot at 4pm.

Saturday is a full day in downtown Princeton with the Street Fair from 8am till 10pm which features 65 booths with a variety of your favorite festival foods, games and activities.
 
There’s a dunking booth, baseball card display, hay rides from downtown to the petting zoo, take a try at the mechanical bull, kids will love the inflatables and the duck pond. Don’t miss the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Unit #116 cake walk at 5pm, the straw maze, sorgum molasses, baked goods, homemade bread, and yard sale items.
 
North Side Baptist Church will hold their “Run for Missions” 5k run/2 mile walk that starts at 7:30am, starts at the Butler lawn. Call 365-6062 for more information.
 
Enjoy Art in the Park all day Saturday in the Big Springs Park. Don’t miss the Petting zoo, the car show, the annual Butler Reunion, a 3 on 3 tournament, and a motorcycle show.
 
There will be an artist Reception for Adam Meredith and a Book signing by Tom White at the Princeton Art Guild from 2:00-3:30 on Saturday. Many of the downtown stores will be open with special pricing for Black Patch. There’s also a book sale at George Coon library week of Black Patch and much more.
 
One of the highlights of the Black Patch Festival each year is the gospel concert held at the Princeton First Baptist Church, in the heart of downtown Princeton. The Bowling Family will perform the free concert from 6-8 Saturday night. Call Wes Curtis for more information 270-625-3512
 
New this year is a Scavenger Hunt! The Community Disciples “Amazing Race” scavenger hunt will begin at Butler law. $25.00 if you pre-register, $30.00 day of. For more info contact Paulette Gray at 270-365-3467.
