Firefighters from the Cadiz Fire Department were called out Tuesday night to a small fire at Barkley Manor Apartments, on West End Street. According to Cadiz Fire Chief Kerry Fowler, the call to the scene at Building E came in just before 9:00pm. Fowler spoke to the News Edge on the scene about what took place:
The fire started in Apartment E-34, which is a downstairs apartment. Fowler added that there was also some minor smoke damage to Apartment E-38, which is the apartment directly above the one where the fire started. All eight apartments in the building were evacuated. No one was injured in the fire and firefighters were clearing the scene less than an hour after they arrived.
