McConnell Says Akin Should Drop Out

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell says Representative Todd Akin's apology isn't good enough and is calling for him to step aside. McConnell says he's certain that Akin is truly sorry for comments he made Sunday suggesting that women can prevent pregnancy in the case of legitimate rape. But McConnell says that when the future of the country is at stake, sorry is not enough.

McConnell and other Republicans are putting pressure on Akin to leave the Missouri Senate race. Akin reiterated Tuesday he was staying in the contest against Senator Claire McCaskill.
