One Injured In Wednesday Afternoon Accident

One person was transported following a two vehicle accident in Cadiz Wednesday afternoon. Cadiz Police say 22-year old Rachel Sproles, of Hopkinsville, was westbound on U.S. 68, approaching the intersection with Main Street, when a truck driven by 50-year old Norman Reed, of Cadiz, pulled from Main Street into her path.

Reed told officers that he thought Sproles was in the turn lane to turn right onto Main Street.  Sproles told police she was in the right hand lane, not the passing lane, with the intent of driving straight through the intersection.

Sproles was taken to Trigg County Hospital with multiple injuries. Reed complained of minor arm injuries but refused treatment at the scene. U.S. 68 and Main Street at the intersection was partially closed for 30 minutes. The accident occurred around 3:40pm Wednesday.
